Sławomir Christov (born 1976) is a Polish-Bulgarian artist with Oriental roots. A illustrator, painter, and graphic artist born in Varna. From 1992 to 1995, he was a student of Yavor Tsanev, a Bulgarian painter and graphic artist. From 1996 to 2001, he studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He graduated from the woodcut studio of Professor Zbigniew Lutomski. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, both in Poland and abroad.
An artist open to the world of symbols and myths, in addition to his graphic work, he also paints, most often using the traditional techniques of egg tempera, watercolor, and gouache. In his work, he draws on archetypes and symbols deeply rooted in our imagination, simultaneously connecting many eras and cultures. Fascinated by, among others, the Italian Quattrocento and the paintings of Mughal India, he creates his own unique world, drawing on the painting traditions of both East and West. A two-time winner of the NGM Grand Prix in Krakow and the Krakow City Art Scholarship, Chrystow's works have been exhibited in Rome, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, and at the Łańcut Palace.
